Create your first SkyGIS project

Every project starts with two essentials: a Project Name and an SRID. We recommend using human-readable project names so projects are easy to find and share later. Make sure you set the SRID correctly—this will make or break your uploaded files. All uploaded files in the project must match the project SRID to ensure layers align properly in the viewer.

Once your project is created, you can upload files. SkyGIS supports a wide range of 3D and 2D formats (add the full file list here). After upload, your files can be processed. At the moment, SkyGIS supports one processing type per batch, so we recommend uploading and processing similar file types together (e.g., point clouds together, vectors together).

Behind the scenes, SkyGIS converts uploaded data into our proprietary optimized format for fast browser viewing. When processing completes, head to the Project Viewer—your panorama and vector layers should appear automatically. To view point clouds, open the Layer Picker and toggle on the point cloud layers you want.

Processing time depends on file size and complexity, and typically ranges from a few seconds to a couple of minutes.
